Established contemporary Jeweller and designer, Alida Cappelletta has based her practice in Perth Western Australia after studying and working as a Contemporary Jeweller in Sydney for fifteen years.

After graduating from Sydney College of the Arts in Jewellery and Metal, Alida also studied at RMIT in Gold and Silver Smithing. With a painting background major from Curtin University she has harmoniously fused her various technical skills and knowledge to create beautifully crafted designs.

Alida has always been fascinated in finding the balance between nature’s organic yet complex forms and geometrical landscape structures that she constantly encounters. Incorporating vivid colours, highly textured surfaces and repetitive forms is fundamental to her approach when developing a new range. She finds pleasure in discovering and experimenting with new ways to fabricate desirable wearable pieces in a contemporary way.

Alida's passion for handmade has filtered through to creating unique rustic pottery. Although new to clay making, she has found much delight in discovering new ways to make beautiful design that is a pleasure to hold in ones hand.

Alida's ever expanding range of ceramics and jewellery can be found at her market stall at Subiaco Farmers Markets (Western Australia) every Saturday from 8am to 12pm.
